Meet Stacy Dawn

Hi All,

I decided that it might be fun to interview fellow authors for my journal. So, to start off this new venture is the author of Shadows of Midnight, Stacy Dawn.

MC: Let’s start off with a little bit of background info on you. You’re Stacy Dawn. Romance author. Wife. Mother. But that’s of course the short and sweet version. Care to introduce yourself and give us a peek at the ‘real you?’

SD: I am all that. I waited a long time to find my soul mate and now we live in a century home out in the country with two beautiful young sons.

That’s the truth.

The reality is our house is in constant need of repairs and filled to the brim with way too much testosterone (even the dog is male). My husband is a sports-aholic to which no twelve step program will cure and happily sharing the obsession with his eager children. Is it any wonder I write romance? It’s to remind me I have a feminine side LOL.

MC: Were you ‘born a romance writer’ or did you ‘become a romance writer?’

SD: Born a romance writer. I believed in knights in shining armor and love conquers all. Still do.

MC: On your website you have a page called Mommy Writers and at the bottom you remind us that “as mothers we look after everyone 24/7 but who looks after us? Exactly, we do. So remember, while taking care of everyone else, don’t forget to take care of yourself.” That’s excellent advice, perhaps advice that should be shared more often. What do you do to take care of yourself? How do you recharge, relax and unwind?

SD: Wow, thank you for mentioning that. When I first came onto the internet and read comments etc from other writers, time and children came up regularly. I strongly believe in the above advice because, as women, we tend to lose who we are in who we take care of. My writing is actually my choice for taking care of myself. It’s something that no one else in my family does or is interested in doing…it’s all mine and something I don’t have to share if I don’t want to. To relax, I enjoy reading and watching movies—romantic comedies and girlie movies are a special treat for me when the usual consensus is Spiderman cartoons, action thrillers, or anything with cars in it.
