May I introduce Jamie Paul Rivard…

I recently sat down with a handsome fella… for an interview! When you get done reading our interview, head on over to Five Star and pick up your copy of Obsidian by Teagan Oliver www.teaganoliver.com.
Name: Jamie Paul Rivard, Jamie to everyone except my mother.
Occupation: U.S. Coast Guard Special Investigative Officer, Currently on a leave of absence to recover from an injury.
Zodiac sign: Pisces

Tell us about yourself. Where were you raised? What’s your family
like? Where do you live?

Most of my upbringing was in New Orleans where my father is a Judge and my mother is from long line of strong southern women. But most of our summers were spent at the family cottage on the coast of Maine… Or at least they were until my brothers death. Now, I live in a house in the keys of Florida. I don’t spend much time there since I’m always working and it’s small, but it’s got the most incredible views of the sunset.
What are your short and long term goals? What do you want out of life?
I don’t know. This accident has put my life on hold and the death of my best friend has made me question what I really want. But with so many unanswered questions about David’s death I can’t think of anything else until I find out who is responsible.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?

Hard to say, I’m sure that there have been so many. Probably the time I ripped the seat of my shorts while fishing with my buddies off Vaca Key.

Biggest regret?
Not being able to find a way to deal with my father. He’s a bit hard headed, but then, so am I. Maybe with time.

Every been convicted of a crime?
No, but then I’ve been responsible for a few others being convicted… better to be on the right side of the law.
If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be
and why?

Tough one… probably Mel Fisher, the man responsible for finding the wreck of the Atochia. That is a man with a lot of perseverance and guts. It takes a lot to hold onto your dreams for so long.
Are you single? Married? Looking?
Definitely single. I haven’t given much thought to settling down and frankly, I don’t think I ever will.

What’s your ideal mate like?
Well I’ve dated my fair share, but I’ve yet to find a woman who could meet me squarely, toe to toe with the same amount of determination as I, someone with enough patience to put up with my choice of career and someone who could put up with my bad habits for longer than a couple of weeks.

Tell us a secret. What’s something others might not know about you?

I love nothing better than to sit on the beach and watch the sun go down.
Do you have a nickname?
Jamie, but some of the guys on base call me Rivard.

Any pet peeves?

I can’t stand people who aren’t what they claim to be and I dislike people who put others at risk because of their own stupid motives.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?

Probably make myself into someone that my father could be proud of…
Any pets?
I cat, a long hair stray named Mip.

How about allergies?
None that I know of…

Do you support any charities?
I support anyone who needs help. But no specific charities…
Is the glass half full or half empty?
Always half full… but who knows what’s in it…
