Lots of Good Reads over at Goodreads

goodreads_logoAre you a member of goodreads? Like most social media, it’s another place to hang out and (if you’re like me) procrastinate. But I think Goodreads offers a nice sort of procrastination. Books.

Thousands of books. Books, books, and more books. Authors. Readers. All in one place talking about their common passion. It’s hard not to love a site like that. Even if it does suck me in faster than a bookstore with a 50% off sign in the window.

Are you on Goodreads yet? I still feel like I’m learning my way around. Look me up: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/1505346.Madison_Chase

I’d love to talk books with you!

Eyeballs – Welcome

No, not the creepy Halloween decorations, but you the viewers and your eyes. That’s what I’m talking about. I was thinking about all the “things” I see every day, all the commercials, ads, and in general words. I don’t know about ya’ll but sometimes I catch myself reading the cereal box.

And that got me wondering if I should see my eye doctor just to, you know, check up. I mean, reading and writing is what I do. And I want my eyes to be in tip top shape for, oh I don’t know, another sixty years.

But then I started thinking about all the things that compete for my attention. This was of course brought on by the inevitable question of when I’d be able to make an appointment with the eye doctor. It seems like everything is just so packed these days. And everything’s competing for… my eyeballs. I recently read a post, and of course I can’t remember where, that was talking about the book industry and you guessed it, eyeballs. Sick of that word yet?

And yes, you guessed correctly, that got me thinking about all the other books out there on the shelves, the other authors who, just like me, are hoping to sell copies. Which of course made me run over and check my web stats just to see if any eyeballs have been visiting me lately.

Such a vicious circle. But hello to all my visitors! I’m so glad you, and your eyeballs, are here.

January 2011

Dear Readers,

Along with Slow Burn and Portrait of Seduction, Power of Seduction (Cassidy’s book) is now available on Kindle & Nook. This is a full length novel following Cassidy and the handsome werewolf who drives her crazy with desire. Get your copy now for only $2.99.

I have plans to release these stories on a few more platforms, so if you have a suggestion/request, please let me know.

All three books have GORGeous new covers. I couldn’t be happier with them. If you haven’t had the chance to read these, now is your chance.

Until next month, happy reading!

What do you do when…

Hi darlings,

What do you do when a book blurb draws you in but then you read a so-so review that makes you rethink your purchasing decision? I was tooling around Naughty Edition Reviews earlier today (a new-to-me site) and came across a book that sounds pretty fun. A dance show? Sign me up. I love to dance! (Am not claiming to be good at it.) Unfortunately, the review was a little lack luster. All points that I’ve read about (reviewers rolling their eyes) before. And heck, I’ve even rolled my own eyes at a book or two.

So what to do…

Take a chance and risk disappointment?

Check out more reviews?

Bite the bullet and hope for the best?

Well, I know what I hope readers would do for me. Take a chance. Bite the bullet. Buy the book and write a review of my own. So Dance Like Nobody’s Watching is on my list.

October 2010

Dear Readers,

Autumn is upon us! I’ve been enjoying brisk walks, falling leaves, and plump pumpkins. I’ve even had my first taste of pumpkin pie. Yes, we’re firmly into autumn here in Atlanta and I couldn’t be happier. I hope you’re enjoying yourself wherever you are and whatever season it is.

I finally have some good news to share with you. I got the rights back to two of my previous releases, Slow Burn and Portrait of Seduction. I’m happy to report that both stories are available for purchase and at a lower price point. Right now both books are available on the Kindle (and Kindle UK). Portrait of Seduction is also available on the Nook. I have plans to release both stories on a few more platforms, so if you have a suggestion/request, please let me know.

Both books have GORGeous new covers. I couldn’t be happier with them. If you haven’t had the chance to read either of these, now is your chance.

Until next month, happy reading!
